Review | L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water & Visibly Clear Scrub

My skin has taken a turn for the worst this summer, there are dry patches and blemishes and red marks galore all over my face, and considering I don't like to wear much makeup in the summer heat, it made me feel terrible. I've always been a 'face-wipe-and-eyemakeup-remover-pad' girl, which I know is super naughty, and I've been forever on the search for a good makeup remover which is as quick and easy as a face wipe but better for my skin.

The first thing I've been loving this summer is the much-raved about L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution. I've been on the hunt for a decent micellar water that does the same job as Bioderma but on a budget price (a big ask, I know!), and I think I've come very close to finding the perfect solution. I picked this up in my local supermarket for £4.99, so it's cheap and cheerful, but does the trick. As you can see in the photo above, it claims to dissolve makeup, unclog pores, remove impurities, and tone and soothe skin.

I really do like this product a lot, I only need a couple of drops on one cotton pad to remove my whole face of makeup, it sweeps away my foundation, concealer, powders and lipsticks instantly, and I only need to hold it over my eyelid for a couple of seconds and then wipe to sweep away all of my eye makeup. It feels like water on my skin and is really refreshing after a long summer day of makeup wearing. It's down to you whether you then go and wash your face properly after using this, but I find it really nice to use of a night time when I'm tired after work and can't be bothered to give my face a proper wash, as it removes all of my makeup just as well.

I feel like after using this, my skin looks and feels very refreshed, clean, and clear. It almost feels like it evens out my skin tone as well, as redness seems to have faded after a couple of uses. I've yet to try this out on a waterproof mascara, and I've heard mixed reviews on how well it performs in that department, but so far, so good!

The second thing I've been loving on my skin is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Scrub. I've been looking for a new face scrub since my Witch one ran out, to tackle the dry patches of skin and blackheads that my chin has annoyingly developed, and decided to give this a go. I picked this up for £4 and so far I am very, VERY impressed. First of all, it smells very fresh and fruity, with scents of tangerine and lime, and claims to unclog and tighten pores, immediately remove excess sebum and mattify the skin, without overdrying it - sounds like a miracle worker to me.

The scrub itself is quite thick, the white part of the product isn't really creamy, but quite 'scrubby' itself, with added little green exfoliating micro-beads to deep cleanse. I can definitely say that it got rid of all my dry patches immediately, and at least half of my blackheads were gone after around 2 day's use, morning and night. As for the 'visibly mattifying the skin and tightening pores' claim, I don't really think I've used it enough to really see a difference, but I do have a lot of faith in this product! It's made the quality of my skin a lot nicer already, and definitely hasn't overdryed it, which is all good!

I can definitely see both of these products becoming staples in my skincare routine, they've improved my skin so much already and I'm so pleased with the results that they've given. Have you tried either of these products yet? What's your whole opinion on the micellar water trend? Let me know and I will see you very soon!
