Wednesday | FOTD

Please excuse the terrible quality 'ipod selfie', I was in a complete rush this morning but was determined to share my makeup look with you all, and then to top it all off my camera battery decided it didn't want to play ball. Typical.

I'm still not sure how I feel about tackling these 'face of the day' posts yet, my self confidence is extremely low which means I get slightly insecure when it comes to plastering my face all over the interwebs but hey ho! This morning I went for a neutral, shimmery eye look with a subtle smokiness with a nude lip and was quite proud of how it turned out! I'm awful at describing things so I'm going to go straight ahead and list everything I used to create the look.

It'd be so easy to take this look from day to night with a quick change of lipstick, replacing Kate Moss 113 with something along the lines of 107, then whack some lashes on and you're good to go. And by 'whack', I mean fiddle and fumble and get glue everywhere trying not to mess up your eyeshadow masterpiece. That's what I usually end up doing at least.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 113

It's fair to say that after buying the coveted Kate Moss 107 Lipstick last year, I've been lusting after another one ever since. My lipstick collection is growing at such a fast pace, I'm even finding it hard to keep up with it, and I could never really justify buying another one.

I've been torn for a while between two shades - 101 and 113, 101 being a gorgeous baby pink nude and 113 being a peachy toned nude. Pastel pinks are becoming my sort of 'safe zone' when it comes to lippy, and I've kind of already got a baby pink Topshop lipstick in my collection (which I looove, might I add). At the time I didn't currently have a peachy toned nude, so the decision was made and 113 snuck its way into my shopping basket.

This is honestly the perfect nude for my skin tone that isn't pink. It's a lovely pastel, almost light coral colour which looks amazing without looking like you've gone and slathered concealer all over your lips. It's the perfect shade to bring coral lipstick into the colder months without being garishly bright and orange and I love it.

My one qualm with this lippy is that if you've got dry patches on your lips, don't even go there until you've used at least half a tub of lip scrub to smooth those bad boys out. Even with a decent lipbalm underneath it, this colour seems to accentuate dry lips like crazy, which is something to keep in mind. A few lip scrubs and intense lip balm-ings later though, it was good to go.

I'm slowly but surely catching up on my last year of college work and things seem to be looking up - I'll be back to my normal blogging schedule soon, yay!
