Tanya Burr's Afternoon Tea

A spontaneous trip over to Feel Unique to do some 'window shopping' quickly turned into me adding all sorts to my basket, including this Tanya Burr lipgloss in Afternoon Tea. They had 25% off of all Tanya Burr products for a limited time, so naturally I had to take advantage of it, even if it was in the middle of a spending ban...

I'd heard a lot of good things about these lip glosses, and originally planned to pick one up when I went to Westfield this coming Saturday, but the 25% off lured me in and I ended up purchasing one sooner than expected. I chose the shade 'Afternoon Tea' mainly because I saw Zoe wearing it in this video and thought it looked so so pretty before I even knew it was a Tanya Burr lippy!

I love the packaging because even though it's plastic it doesn't feel 'plasticy' as it's thick rather than thin and flimsy. I also adore the little Tanya Burr logo with the heart, it just makes the bottle a whole lot cuter.

The applicator isn't what I'd describe as a 'doe foot', although it's along those sort of lines. It's flat and really packs on a lot of product, and despite it's 'flatness' it glides along the lips so nicely and disperses the colour really evenly.

And as for the formula itself? It's lovely. I'm not particularly a fan of lip glosses and will usually go for a lipstick over a gloss because of the texture and staying power, but this challenged my old ways and has since replaced my lipstick in my everyday makeup bag. It's sticky enough that it'll last a considerable amount of time, but not too sticky that everything that touches it will be glued there forever i.e. hair. The pigmentation and colour payoff is second to none and despite being a gloss, it doesn't need a base colour underneath. Oh, and did I mention it smells and tastes like vanilla? Yummy.

I'm so glad I took the plunge and decided to go for this gloss, I definitely wasn't disappointed.
